Rustic Farm Wedding | Highland, New York

Nicole and Evan had a beautiful late summer wedding at Liberty View Farm in Highland, New York. The venue is located only about 90 minutes from New York City, just across the river from Poughkeepsie, New York. Your wedding day at a farm in one sentence? “Cocktail reception, lawn games, dinner, dancing in barn (barn weddings are the best!), then close the night with a bon fire.” The farm, the garden and the nearby mountains and valleys make beautiful backdrops for wedding pictures and wedding film.

It was a late summer in a calendar, but just as warm and beautiful of a sunny day as it would be in the middle of summer. The guests are arriving, everybody is gathering together, we see smiles and happy tears… The ceremony in the garden was a dream! Later, when Nicole’s father gave his speech everyone was tearing up. He told a sweet story of how the couple met: Nicole and Evan were high school sweethearts and their love blossomed even more when they attended different colleges. One day Evan contacted Nicole’s father to ask if they could talk. Evan had come to ask for his daughter’s hand. Nicole’s father got emotional himself: “It was classic, it was old fashioned and came from the heart.”

The owners of Liberty View Farm have vast experience hosting and organizing weddings at their farm. They just hosted their 95th wedding! They say: “Hosting a wedding on our farm can be as simple or elaborate as one wishes.” Opting for a privately owned venue makes your wedding preparations much easier: all you have to do is to choose your wedding menu, music and flowers (freshly cut flowers right from the farm in this case!) and the owners make it all happen for you! No need for a wedding planner!

The farm was acknowledged in Marta Stewart Weddings Ideas & Inspiration book, and featured in the New York Magazine Fall / Winter 2016. It is definitely one of the best choices for a wedding in the beautiful Hudson Valley!
